Game Set for a Stalemate: QPR vs Watford (21/11/2020)

Onside View’s resident football tipster, James Robinson, flexes his Championship knowledge in this week’s preview of The Hoops vs The Hornets.
This Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at Loftus Road is one of those derbies spelt with a small “d”, where even die-hard fans don’t know whether to hate each other.
Having dropped down to the Championship earlier in 2020, Watford have struggled for consistency, especially away from home. In fact, their only win on the road came at the now managerless Derby. A team QPR recently beat away by the same score line.
But things look to be on the up, with both teams having fared better in the last few games.
Those looking for value should carefully consider that QPR typically don’t start playing until they’re one nil down. Likewise, Watford’s defence tends to open up in the second half. As such, betting on more goals for both teams in the second half might not be a bad shout @12/5 with Bet365
Watford’s talisman, Troy Deeney, looks like he’s nearing match fitness, but still might be a game off (looks like he’ll be back in the Talksport studio for another week!). Similarly, QPR had six players called up to international duty over the break — most notably top scorer Lyndon Dykes, who worked himself into the ground against Serbia. Add to this trips to Slovakia and Israel, he’ll surely be another centre forward not quite at his best. As such, a small stake on 0-0 could be a decent punt — @17/2 with Bet365
Mark Warburton works with one of the sixth-lowest budgets in the Championship. But, in a similar fashion to his time at Brentford, he‘s putting together a team that is difficult to beat. Watford on the other hand have a lot less experience in their team, which could prove an important factor. My solid tip for this game is Score Draw @7/2 — with Bet365 offering a clean sweep on the best odds.
